FAQs
Can I use a bank draft or money order instead of cheque for my initial deposit?
No. You must use a cheque from another bank. This will also link the chequing account of that bank to your Tangerine account and will allow for easy transfers.
Which ATMs / ABMs can I use?
1) You can use ATMs on The Exchange Network (ABMs of HSBC®, National Bank of Canada® and most credit unions) until Sept 30, 2014
A list of Exchange Network ATMs
2) Starting in June 2014, you can use any Scotiabank ABMs (remember that they're also in 7-11s now)
3) Many stores also do a "cash back" when you use debit to pay and it is a convenient way to withdrawal some money
4) You can use Tangerine's ABMs at Tangerine cafes

Does Tangerine have a credit card?
Not at this time, but many people have requested one, so it is definitely on their radar!
Do I get a bank (debit) card?
You only get a Tangerine client card (debit card) when you open a chequing account.
What is an Orange Key / Orange Code / Referral Code / Bonus?
Tangerine has a promotion where you can refer friends to the bank. If your friend opens an account with the orange key, they will get a $25 bonus and you will get a $25 bonus. If you need a key, use 41478169S1!
Once you open your account, you will get your own referral key and can get friends to join. If they join with your key, they will get $25 and you will get $25!
How do I link additional bank accounts to Tangerine?
1) Sign into your Tangerine Account.
2) Under ‘My info and options’ on the left menu, select ‘Links to external accounts’.
3) Click the 'Add account' button.
4) Provide the necessary details and click Create new link
6) Confirm the request
You then request a stamped direct deposit form the bank you are trying to link and mail it into Tangerine. You can also write a cheque to yourself for $1 using that account and mail it in. You can choose to drop it off at a Tangerine cafe instead of mailing it in yourself.

1) Sign into your Tangerine Account.
2) On the left menu, select 'Forms'
3) Click the 'Direct Deposit form' link and it will open a .pdf with your Direct Deposit form
4) Print and use!
